Axel Melchior - General Manager

Axel has been related with the Tourism industry since he was a teenager, working during College and University vacations as interpreter/assistance for German and English speaking tourist in Costa Rica. When he graduated  from a Costa Rican University (Business Degree) started full time in the industry. He has now achieved 14 years of experience in different areas such as Individual Travelers, Groups, Incentives & Cruise Industry.

As General Manager  of Careli Tours,  he coordinates the efforts to satisfy the clients, to obtain healthful financial results and is looking for the constant innovation of the company. His professional background, German sense of responsibility (Inherited from his German  roots ), appreciation for Nicaragua's  culture& nature helps the team to  always keep up with our mission: Exceed your expectations with high quality service  and preservation of the environment, with sustainable tourism policies. Axel has a MBA of the prestigious Latin business school INCAE. Among Axel 's hobbies are: hiking, bird watching, soccer, surfing and as Dive-Pro he truly enjoys diving.

Lourdes Fuentes - Marketing & Sales Manager

Lourdes , our Marketing and Sales Manager, also overlooks our  product development, to make sure that creative and exotic itineraries are put together for our guests' enjoyment and to exceed their expectations. Along with the, reservations staff, she analyzes product request, to ascertain that our visitors receive what they are looking for and beyond, creating taylor made programs according to the visitors desires and budget.  Lourdes 15 years experience in Tourism that comes from Costa Rica where she studied International Relations and learned at the front desk of a leading Costa Rican tour operator about the fascinating world of tourism.
She strongly believes in the philosophy of becoming better each day and in the constant innovation.

Lourdes is the heart of the Non Profit programs & environmental efforts at Careli Tours.  Among Lourdes ' hobbies are reading, dancing, diving, exploring new places and is well known in the company as the jungle lady!

Yariela Enriquez - Sales & Reservation Department.

Yariela is Senior Sales Executive . She has a University post grade in Marketing & Advertising. She has achieved 8 years experienced in the Tourism industry. Besides her sales skills, she is fluent in English & French, those helping with both English and French Markets. Although is the senior in the team, she is always ready to learn new things and for her colleagues in the office is always available for sharing her knowledge. Her hobbies are; dancing buying cosmetic, been in fashion trends, and adores been a mom of 2 beautiful boys.

Maria Jose  Orue - Sales & Reservation Department.

At first sight, Maria Jose gives the impression of a shy girl, but you will be surprised as she is very active and likes the adventure in all the dimensions possible. She brings this same energy and enthusiasm to every project that she tackles. She is in charge of the Spanish & US market.  Her hobbies are dancing, listen to music and she enjoys learning computer trends.   Maria Jose has a University degree in System Engineering.

Ilse Miranda - Sales & Reservation Department.

She is the new acquisition in the sales team. Ilse graduated from the Deutsch schule (German/Nicaraguan high school) and in 2007 got a degree in Industrial engineering. She is in charge of German speaking clients. She is very pro-active, likes to discover new places and her hobbies are dancing Brazilian dance Capoeira, reading, and going to the gym. If you ever visit Careli’s office in Managua, you will immediately know who Ilse is as she has a beautiful and particular way of laughing. She brings a lot of positive energy to the office.

Rodrigo  Jerez - Operations Manager

He is the one is responsible of making sure all the itineraries run smoothly (transportation, pick-up times, guided services, etc.). He is fully involved in the day-to-day activities.  He is a challenge taker and  a  problem solver. He will never miss an opportunity to discover what lies off the beaten track. He has a university degree in Tourism & hotel management. He has achieved 8 years experience in the industry and 4 of those with Careli Tours.  His hobbies are: singing karaoke, soccer and always ready for new experiences. Rodrigo is devoted single father of his 7 year old girl.

Flavia Velasquez - Operations coordinator

Flavia started working for us in Sep. 2007, when she first came to Careli Tours as an intern from a local university. We were so impressed with her ability to learn quickly, her dedication and  her ability to get things done. December 2007 we offered her a position in the operation department. She graduated last January and got a degree in Tourism. Although is the “baby girl” of the company she is active enough to keep the rest of the team busy. She enjoys cooking, drawing,  reading and travelling with her family all over Nicaragua specially to the beaches…She is eager to learn to achieve experience and have her own company.

Bismark Hernandez - Senior Driver

Bismark has been with Careli Tours since the beginning, reason why, we want you to know an important member of the team. Bismark will always give the extra mile and is the perfect buddy for any tour guide. He is always concerned  about security and  guest ’s satisfaction.
Bismark had the pleasure to be the driver of King Juan Carlos & Queen Sophia from Spain, actor Tom Hanks (Bismark calls him Tomas), Queen of Luxemburg, The USA Secretary of State,  Latin news presenter Mirka de Llanos and many happy clients from all over the world.
He enjoys very much taking care of his motor cycle, so you might see Bismark in Nicaragua either in Careli’s Coaster (22 seat bus) or on his motorcycle. He is a big fan of it!

Carlos Aguilera - Driver

Is a former body guard of Nicaraguan personalities He started in tourism 5 years ago and truly enjoys serving others. He is very polite and follows instructions with emphasis in customer’s satisfaction. He drives from mini Van to big buses. Carlos has a 4 years old son and one of his favorite hobbies is to teach his son swimming, he also likes to keep training and do some kick boxing at the gym. He likes to dance Merengue and Bachata. He is at the moment learning English as he wishes to communicate better with the visitors.

Elisa Ruiz Perez - Accounting coordinator

In many businesses, you only hear about the accounting people as one more employee but not in Careli Tours. As an accounting coordinator, Elisa has the responsibility of keeping Careli Tour’s good reputation of paying and invoicing timely. She has a university degree in accounting and financing. Elisa is much appreciated by her fellow co-workers for been humble, nice and always ready to hit the floor dance. Elisa main hobby is to be with her daughters
